PromoOman took the initiative to organize the First Expat Basketball Tournament under the slogan “Spirit of Nations 2006”. The Event took place at Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, from May 10 to the 12, 2006 and was a great success.


Non-professional teams of different nationalities were invited to participate at the Tournament. Each team consisted of minimum 8 to maximum 12 players from one country of the age between 20-50 years old. Each team had one manager and one coach. There were no registration fees for participation.

Matches between Omani and Expat female teams took place both at the opening and closing of the Tournament.

Omani, Lebanese, USA, Philippines, South African and Japanese teams competed with each other.


The winners were:
1. USA
2. Oman
3. Lebanon

The next Tournament is planned for April 2012 and we are welcoming all who loves Basketball with passion to join us!

In 2011 PromoOman organized Second Expat Basketball Tournament “Spirit of Nations 2011” on the same terms and conditions as in 2006.

Non-professional teams of different nationalities are invited to participate at the tournament and expecting more teams to attend the tournament this year. Each team consists of minimum 8 to maximum 12 players from one country of the age between 20-50 years old. Each team has one manager and one coach. Matches between Omani and Expat female teams are to be conducted at opening and closing, in this regard, all female non-professional basketball players are highly encouraged to participate.. Omani, USA, Spanish, Lebanese, Serbian, Turkish, Philippines and Sudanese teams competed with each other.

The winners were:
1. Oman
2. USA
3. Spain


Female match between Omani and Expat teams took place at the closing. Expat female team “Spirit of Nations” won the match.

Both Tournaments were organized with the full cooperation of the Omani Basketball Federation and sponsored by different reputable companies.
